Give Us Wings, FIVETWOSIX Salon Spa and METRO Magazine teamed up to present a Design Challenge where local designers created and modeled outfits made of authentic African fabrics inspired by the cultures of Kenya and Uganda. Designers included Emma Berg, Pafoua Thao, Kimberly Jurek, Maggie Dayton, Seth Hardin, Renalie Bailey, Heidi Inwood, Patricia Castillo, Susan Timm, and Heather Aasand with hair and makeup done by the FIVETWOSIX stylists. Award-winning emcee, Faatemah, helped showcase the garments which were sold in a silent auction to raise money for Give Us Wings, a nonprofit organization supporting community development projects for adults and children in Kenya and Uganda. The gallery also featured a special photography exhibit focussing on east Africa by Elizabeth Barnwell. Digital Crush was one of many proud to sponsors of the event including McNally Smith College of Music, Cheeky Monkey Deli, Cafe Latte, Cafe 128, Solo Vino, Summit Brewing Company, Fler de Lis Fresh Flowers, Quince Gifts, and Blue Zones.
