Flocks of fine art aficionados landed at the Gallery at Fox Tax to catch a glimpse of works by local artist, OX-OP Arts director, and DC's friend Rob McBroom. Mixing painted media with ballpoint pens, roll-ons, and other shiny or unrecognizable baubles, Rob creates colorful worlds inhabited by anthropomorphic creatures, living with or descending from corporate logos and mascots. Phrases from Edward Lear's "The Owl and the Pussycat" (a poem Rob has held near and dear since childhood) narrate each of the pieces. Sliding in somewhere between first and third base, we're sure Heavy Petting did not disappoint.
