The DC crew made a surprise appearance at MarsCon '09, a Sci-Fi convention that was rocking the Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington. Though we didn't make it to the masquerade ball or the panel discussions, we did get to see lots of sci-fi inspired paintings, photos and hats at the MarsCon art show. Most of the real action, however, was taking place in the party rooms on the 13th floor in the late night hours.

Arguably one of the snazziest rooms, the Green Lantern room was decked out with lots of green lights and custom-made Green Lantern posters and banners. Their crew dressed up in matching green outfits and even designed heroic labels for the different drinks they served.

Speaking of themes, you can't have a Con without Klingons. Though always bristling with anger on the exterior, deep down every Klingon is a big softy. Friendly and courteous Klingons like George and Admiral Qob! (rhymes with "lobe") Zantai-Hurric Cold Terror Fleet Commander of the Klingon Assault Group helped us stash our camera gear when we'd drank too much. (GHHIJ KET JAGHHMEYJAHJ!)

There were a lot of familiar faces at MarsCon that we'd seen before at CONvergence '08, but sometimes it's hard to recognize a hero after they've been demoted from Jedi to Starfleet admiral.
